House Bill 4751, or the “Homeless Elderly Center of 2011”, would put up homes for the elderly in provinces. Tenants will be provided with living quarters, clothing, food, and medical attention. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will operate and maintain the centers.
The centers will be home to the elderly who have been neglected and abandoned by their children or other family members.
Another GREAT idea but only on paper. The Republic Act 9257 or the Expanded Seniors Citizens Act, provides for FREE MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE AT GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS.
That's what the law says but in fact they only get a 20% discount across the board for any service. Our Honorable lawmakers make a law, it is passed BUT someone along the way changes it. Therefore Honorable members of Congress, before you pass another law giving the Seniors a break and try to help them, why don't you finish what you have already started.
WHERE IS THE FREE MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE FOR SENIORS AS STATED IN THE Republic Act 9257 or the Expanded Seniors Citizens Act?
Get it done. Implement and operate. Again not a New venue for corruption. Yes, let us have the decency to take care of our elderly. I really pray that our taxes should be used for such initiatives and not on foreign trips, new houses and cars of some heartless government officials.
I just don't understand how a child can turn his, her back on their own mother or father and still think he is human. And yet they say they are Filipino so this is very bright idea, elderly specially the poor and sickly deserves a care from government.
We must consider that while we are preparing to deprive the coming generation of their right to life by promoting abortion and contraceptives, and by raising this coming generation in a mindset that "child rearing is a burden and a great suffering", then this coming generation will grow up in contempt of all kinds of suffering, including especially the care for the old and the sick.
So, we could not really depend on this coming generation to care for as when we are old. Since we are placing this coming generation's chance to life at our disposal, since we place in our mercy whom of these unborn children we will chose to see the light of the day and whom we will choose to deprive of it, then i think it is just fair that when this unborn generation will reach their prime of life and we are old and incapacitated, they will also put at their disposal whom of us they will give the chance to live, and whom of us they will abandon in misery and even whom of us they will exterminate (directly or indirectly).
So the putting up of elderly homes as provided by this bill is really a good preparation for that time to come. Or generation will be in dire need of it in the future and i think our generation will benefit most from it.
