Globe Telecom recently introduced its SUPERUNLI ALLTXT25, which provides unlimited text service for a day to all networks, from Globe, its subsidiary Touch Mobile, and rivals Smart Communications and Talk 'N Text.
Meanwhile, Smart Communications has also recently introduced a new series of text promos. One of these is the SMARTalk Unli Call & Text 100, which is unlimited calls and text within their network (Smart and Talk N Text) for four days, or P25 per day.
This would be most cost effective service for Smart users who want to make unlimited calls to those within the same network. However, Smart has yet to offer an unlimited service that allows for sending of free SMS to Globe.
Both Globe and Smart have also acknowledged that they also need to expand to other non-voice and SMS services to improve its revenue stream. Both have been investing heavily on their mobile Internet services, launching their own 4G infrastructure.
I wouldn't mind switching back to Globe if ever their promo is to be fully implemented and no restraints from its competitors.
I'm not against Globe making a move such as unlimited texting regardless of network provider, but apparently such acts says as if though they've taken over the telecoms industry in the country which might pose a threat among it's competitors in the industry and in turn violates our law regarding unhealthy competition in the business industry.
History had shown us complaints from Globe and Smart Telecoms when Sun Cellular first introduced the 'unlimited text' offers in the country which eventually gave birth to the very idea of 'unlimited texting' among network service providers (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I guess what I wanted to ask is "what do Globe's competitors say to such a move?" I doubt they'll agree to a single network running our country's telecommunication needs unless they too will get a share from it. Just voicing my opinion.
